The shoe, which has been reimagined with premium craftmanship, features a deconstructed upper that is backed by an espadrille sole. The model’s iconic white with green look is joined by a black with green that involves synthetic jute-inspired construction. Joining the kicks is an apparel collection that includes a crocheted vest, striped polo shirts with matching fringed shorts, and a tailored camp shirt that sports lace embroidery. The entire range has been modeled by a star-studded cast of Hoyeon, Edison Chen, Blondey, George Russell, Jashlem, and even Stan Smith himself. Release is set to take place on July 12 via adidas and select retailers, with the shoes priced at $140 USD each.Original Story: CLOT and adidas have been working together closely since first teaming up again last year. On the footwear side of things, the two have already offered unique reworks of both the Superstar and Gazelle. Now, they’re looking to expand their repertoire with an Espadrille-inspired take on the Stan Smith after taking a similar approach with the Gazelle previously. Our first look at the new CLOT x adidas Stan Smith design sees the classic tennis sneaker outfitted in familiar colorways of “Footwear White” and “Cloud Black.” Both pairs feature green heel tabs with the former utilizing a leather that matches the rest of the upper while the latter favors a texture fabric to accompany its suede upper. What sets this iteration of the Stan Smith apart from its contemporaries is the Espadrille sole that is stitched into the upper, arriving in brown and black respectively. At the time of writing, neither CLOT nor adidas have shared any release details regarding their two takes on the Stan Smith. Stay tuned for updates, including official campaign details, as we currently expect the new design to arrive on shelves this July via adidas and select retailers.
