A First Look at the Victor Victor x Nike Air Max DN8 “NYC” and “Tokyo”

SummaryNike collaborates with Victor Victor on next Air Max DN8Two colorways – “NYC” and “Tokyo” – have been revealed, both with automotive references”NYC” and “Tokyo” release dates in September, with Hypedrive Cars & Kicks private event acting as a pre-release party for VIP invited guests onlyNike is set to drop its next big collaboration with the Air Max DN8, this time with Victor Victor. The Nike Air Max DN8 is seeing its next collaboration with music producer Steven Victor, in conjunction with his record label Victor Victor Worldwide. The label – which oversees artists such as Ski Mask the Slump God, NIGO, the late Pop Smoke and many others – has worked with Nike’s latest technical sneaker in two distinct colorways. Since Steven is an avid automotive enthusiast, both colorways evoke automotive culture and cull motorsport references across the colorways and the silhouette of the DN8.For the “NYC” colorway, an all black upper dominates the look, with multicolor accents coating the DN8’s sleek skin. The colors are a reference to automotive airfoil schematics, how air moves around specific parts of a car and the effects of it on the part. Beyond the colorful upper, the Victor Victor x Nike Air Max DN8 also features a similar rainbow effect assortment of dots on the bottom sole, while darkened Air Max bubbles create the midsole. Vibrant laces and an exclusive Victor Victor helmet keytag round out the NYC.An alternative “Tokyo” colorway complements the NYC, in a contrasting silver color scheme. The metallic sheen dominates the upper that’s tied with chrome and carbon fiber at the heel, giving a slight nod to automotive materials. Icy “VICTOR” soles are a subtle touch and nod back to Steven Victor, while subtle Victor Victor graphics are found within, at the insole as well as on the manufacturer’s sizing tag. Both pairs are set to release this later summer, with the NYC colorway dropping first on September 13, and the Tokyo pair to follow on September 15.Subsequently, an exclusive edition of Hypedrive’s Cars & Kicks event will see a pre-release of the Victor Victor x Nike Air Max DN8 “NYC”, with invited attendees getting first access to purchase the limited edition sneaker before its official release. The event is taking place in Brooklyn, New York on September 6 to a select list of clientele only.
