This iteration refreshes the iconic KEEN model with an upper that layers soft, misty grays against steely metallic accents. Adorning the upper are original laser-processed graphic by NYC-based graffiti artist, NESM1, who drew inspiration from traditional Japanese straw raincoats.The shoe is incorporated with premium mesh and quick-dry linings that balance breathability and water repellency. Meanwhile, recycled and PFAS-free materials as wel as Eco Anti-odor treatments underscore the collaboration’s commitment to sustainability. Bridging the worlds of fashion and sportswear, the two turned back time to produce a retro-inspired range of apparel. On top of this, the centerpiece of the campaign was the return of the Nike Astrograbber, a ’70s American football model. Two colorways of the shoe launched last year, with two more offered earlier this year.Now, it’s time for the Astrograbber to be offered to the masses. Three versions of the old school shoe are set to drop on Tuesday, and the Swoosh has revealed that it has plenty more on the way with the unveiling of a “Black/Muslin” take that is particularly familiar. A black leather upper is joined by off-white Swooshes, matching one of Bode’s first compositions. What sets this pair apart, aside from the lack of Bode ornamentation, is the sole unit, which favors off-white this time around.At the time of writing, Nike has not yet announced when this “Black/Muslin” version of the Astrograbber will be dropping. This new chapter of the Air Jordan lineage offers a modern build centered around the number 40, which is nodded to via the 40-degree angles utilized throughout.Each Air Jordan 40 colorway revealed so far has featured a unique upper, with this version of the shoe looking back to the original Air Jordan 1 for inspiration. The minimalist upper hosts a Swoosh at the lateral, combining with Wings branding at the medial collar and a stitched Nike Air tag at the tongue. Its “Chicago” color scheme blends red, white, and black with off-white at the midsole. From there, an “AIR JORDAN” callout can be spotted at the heel.At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not yet indicated when this Air Jordan 1-themed take on the Air Jordan 40 will be dropping.
