ASICS on Monday launched the GEL-NIMBUS 25, an all-new footwear silhouette that the brand is calling its “most comfortable running shoe yet.”Built with new PureGEL technology and 20% more FF BLAST™ PLUS ECO cushioning, the shoe was rated No. 1 in comfort by runners in an independent test by The Biomechanics Lab in South Australia. Offering softer landings, the GEL-NIMBUS 25 strategically integrates the PureGEL technology into its midsole for enhanced shock absorption and smoother transitions. Additionally, the silhouette’s breathable, stretchy knit tongue provides an easy step-in and an adaptive fit.“Following ASICS design philosophy, we use athlete wear testing, biomechanical research, sustainable methods and decades of craftsmanship to create products that feel best for both body and mind,” said Laura Bolgen, Senior Manager Global Product Line, Performance Running Footwear at ASICS. “We knew that our ambitious goal of ‘creating the most comfortable running shoe’ was one that would require even more design and development work as well as internal and external testing and consumer validation.”To assess the shoe’s comfort, Dr. Chris Bishop Ph.D. from The Biomechanics Lab conducted an independent study that put the GEL-NIMBUS 25 against three leading competitor shoes and its predecessor, the GEL-NIMBUS 24.100 runners (52 men, 48 women) took place in the study, during which they tested an unrecognizable version of each shoe over an eight-week period. Participants were asked to run on a treadmill at a pace of 10km/hr for three minutes and assess each shoe’s comfort levels based on their heel cushioning, forefoot cushioning, shoe stability and forefoot flexibility. The lab’s independent statistical analysis showed that the GEL-NIMBUS 25 ranked No. 1 in comfort.ASICS’ GEL-NIMBUS 25 will be available in stores and on the brand’s website beginning February 1 for £165 GBP. John Geiger to Release the JG Slide for Spring 2023
Streetwear brands, luxury labels and footwear imprints are constantly battling nowadays to see who can design the most innovative slides, clogs and mules. With Ye out of the picture (for now) in the sportswear realm so there’s a gap in the market for fashion-forward slides, so John Geiger is attempting to capitalize on the moment. The streetwear designer has just announced his new JG Slide that’s set to release during the Spring ’23 season. In an effort to be more Earth-conscious, Geiger crafts his new footwear silhouette with a biodegradable EVA foam. A trio of tonal colorways have been unveiled thus far that include a pale green, bold red and an all-black variation. The upper is branded with a “g” logo that spreads across both feet while his signature insignia is implanted into the heel of the footbed. Down below, the kicks are molded with a toothy outsole that is reminiscent of Ye’s YEEZY SLIDE, only the spikes here curve up towards the middle of the model for a slight bit of extra flair. Additionally, the phrase, “Too Many No’s Not Enough O’s” wraps around the heel with raised letters.Peep the gallery above to capture a closer look. For more footwear news, Salehe Bembury and Clarks Originals unveiled their “Mud Moss” Lugger collaboration.
Nike Dunk Low Gets Fitted With a White, Black and Red Color Scheme
If you’re fatigued of seeing new Dunk colorways pop up every month, we hear you. However, we also hate to break it to you that Nike has every intention of broadening the silhouette’s catalog with a flurry of new colorways this Spring/Summer 2023 season, one being this newly-unveiled white, black and red colorway. This latest variation to emerge is a testament to Nike’s power and how landing back on its classic color schemes almost always works. This three-toned arrangement evokes memories of classic Chicago Bulls colors that have been popularized by Jordan Brand models as well as various college athletic programs, but it comes with a flipped ensemble. Overlays are done up in a pure white hue and balanced out by stark black toe boxes, quarter panels, collars and laces. Strong pops of red peek out through the Swoosh logos on the sides as well as the overlays that host Nike branding on the rear. Beneath all of that, the sneakers are completed with angelic midsole units and treading that match up with the aforementioned Nike checks.Official images can be seen in the gallery above, and you can anticipate a Spring/Summer 2023 release to occur. In case you wanted to check out more Nike news, a taupe “Year of the Rabbit” Nike Dunk Low has popped up.
