Every so often Nike invests more time and energy into certain sneaker releases by partnering with various retailers around the globe on a rollout. And to kick off the year, it’s aligning with Montreal-based retailer Off the Hook to highlight the delectable Nike Dunk Low “Montreal Bagel.”Using the classic Dunk as its canvas, the Swoosh channels the morning feeling of picking up a dozen of the Canadian city’s signature sesame bagels. Toasty overlays are styled with all-over sesame-inspired patterns while the “Royal Blue” accents touch up the Swooshes to call out the flag of Quebec. The insoles have been devised with wood print to symbolize wood-burning ovens while the laces and tongue labels are styled in white to represent a bagel’s best friend: cream cheese. In addition, the translucent gum outsole salutes the honeywater dip that elevates Montreal-style bagels with a distinct hint of sweetness. To add to the fun, Nike worked with Montreal illustrator Felipe Arriagada-Nunez, aka Chien Champion, to craft a custom shoe box inspired by the cityscape and key elements from the city.Off the Hook will host a special early access launch on Friday, January 13 at 11:00 EDT for a retail price of $160 CAD (approx. $120 USD).For other news, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Valentine’s Day” has been unveiled.
