The Nike Cortez Prepares for “Hangul Day”

With a growing international presence, Nike has established new themes that celebrate the cultures it has established connections to. For Korea, Hangul Day — also known as Korean Alphabet Day — commemorates the founding of the alphabet. Tapping into this, the Swoosh has produced “Hangul Day” colorways for the past couple of years with 2023 seeing the Dunk Low, Air Force 1 Low, Air Max 1 and now the Cortez dressed for the occasion. For the Cortez, it rocks a brown that is darker than the hue found on the other silhouettes. This chocolate flavor covers the leather and suede upper with off-white chiming in at the Swooshes, tongue, lining and sole unit. The tongue tag showcases typical Nike branding while the heel tabs carry “Hangul Day”-themed hits that go with the sockliner graphics to complete the pair.Despite revealing the four aforementioned “Hangul Day”-themed colorways, no release details have been shared by Nike regarding the capsule. Look for this version of the Cortez and its accompanying looks to land on shelves in Asia via Nike and select retailers this October with a global launch to follow afterwards.Looking for more of the latest headlines from the footwear space? Hershey and Crocs Craft Chocolate-Covered Classic Clogs

It’s been another busy year for Crocs and its collaborations team. The month of September alone has seen everyone from DreamWorks and its Shrek franchise to denim experts Levi’s and the tastemakers at JJJJound rework the Classic Clog. Now, another unpredictable combination has been crafted as the chocolate specialists at The Hershey Company have immortalized three of its hit candies on the slip-on silhouette.Drawing inspiration from the Hershey’s Kiss, Hershey’s Bar and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, two distinct looks have been assembled for the drop. The Reese’s-themed pair rocks the candy’s instantly-recognizable orange at the upper while its midsole combines chocolate brown hues. Elsewhere, callouts to Reese’s land at the strap, rivets and the thematic Jibbitz charms. As for the second look, strong “HERSHEY’S” hits similarly adorn the rivets, Jibbitz and strap while the midsole dons the slip-on’s dark chocolate brown in a presentation that matches a Hershey’s Bar.For those looking to celebrate Hershey’s chocolate with a pair of collaborative Crocs Classic Clogs, get ready as both styles drop on September 29 via Crocs and select retailers with prices ranging from $55 USD to $65 USD.Looking for more of the latest news from the footwear space? If there’s one thing we know about Fear of God and adidas’ partnership, it’s that they aren’t rushing things. It’s been years since the long-term collaboration was announced and they’ve yet to officially debut their partnership on shelves. The last major step in the rollout was the inclusion of collaborative pieces in Fear of God’s debut runway show, but that took place almost half a year ago. In the meantime, leaks continue to serve as starting points for discussion with the duo’s special rendition of the Rivalry Low 86 popping up in a total of three colorways now.Following reveals in gray and black, a brown suede colorway has been showcased. Consistent with the preceding looks, the monochromatic upper hosts its signature color with a Trefoil stamp at the heel and the Three Stripes on each side of the shoe. Supporting the sneaker, an off-white platform sole unit combines adidas branding with a “FEAR OF GOD” stamp at the heel in black. No updates from Fear of God or adidas regarding their first collaborative delivery have surfaced in recent months. Hang tight as we expect news to be shared by the end of the year from at least one party, with the debut likely going down shortly thereafter. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Knowing Kicks (@knowing_kicks)Look out for this silhouette to play a key role in the duo’s initial launch and for more of the latest news from the footwear space, be sure to check out our latest installment of the Sole Mates series — featuring Sean Wotherspoon and the adidas Gazelle.
