Adidas Pledges €110M EUR Charity Donation From YEEZY Sales

adidas will donate €110 million EUR from the recent sales of its leftover YEEZY stock, following the brand’s termination of its partnership with Kanye West.As per Financial Times, the footwear giant has already donated €10 million EUR and has pledged an additional €100 million EUR to organizations battling anti-Semitism. adidas’ second-quarter financial results read that a majority of the drop sold at full priced, earning another €400 million EUR in Q2 and making up 1% of the brand’s growth. “We are happy with the way the second quarter developed. 2023 is not about trying to show short-term results,” adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden said in a statement, adding that the company is not expected to return to “good and profitable” until 2025.“We have inherited a situation that was very unfortunate,” Gulden added. “I think the Yeezy business and the [Nike] Jordan business were the only two collabs in the world that were creating these kind of premiums over a longer period. Our task now is to limit the damage, get rid of the inventory, use the proceeds for good and lead the business without Yeezy.”Elsewhere in footwear, Vans is celebrating the fifth anniversary of Mac Miller’s Swimming with a special Authentic collab.

“University Red” Hits the Nike Zoom Vomero 5

Nike’s kept all hands on deck surrounding the return of the Zoom Vomero 5. In less than a year, we’ve seen it return in around 30 different colorways — from a slick “Cobblestone” to a funky “Timeless” version with Dunk overlays. Now, the streak of looks continues with a brightly-colored “University Red.”Offering even more red than the “Mystic Red” colorway, this pair utilizes the mixed material upper to showcase the signature hue against a white loose-gauge mesh and silver reflective Swooshes. Suede and leather join synthetic materials to comprise the upper while the typical reflective notes are included at the tongue, toe and heel, providing even more light at night. Wedged between red at the point the upper joins the sole and the rubber outsole, an off-white midsole further breaks up the pair. Lastly, notes of “Washed Coral” ease into the look at the midfoot, lining and heel, adding texture. At the time of writing, Nike has not shared any of its release plans for the “University Red” version of the Zoom Vomero 5. Stay tuned for a firm release date as we expect this pair to arrive as part of the Swoosh’s fall releases via Nike and select retailers at a price of $160 USD.Looking for more of the latest footwear news from Nike? Beige and White Collide on the Nike Air Max 97 Futura

With August upon us already, Nike is preparing for the Northern Hemisphere’s looming fall as the weather starts to cool off. In anticipation of this, it has just revealed a beige and white take on the new Air Max 97 Futura silhouette. Having showcased the new design in April, the modern reinterpretation of the Air Max 97 is expected to arrive very soon, joining the often-decorated Air Max 90 Futura.Kicking things off with this pair, Nike has opted to utilize the mesh base layer as an opportunity to slip in white while the neighboring overlays favor a crisp beige at the leather, suede and synthetic details. White rejoins the look at the laces and tongue tag while also being featured at the lateral midfoot’s embroidered Swoosh. From there, its sizable sole unit offers support with a full-length visible Air unit encased by white at the midsole and a translucent finish at the outsole. While Nike has yet to disclose any release information surrounding this beige and white take on the Nike Air Max 97 Futura, it’s likely to land on shelves by the end of the year via the Swoosh and select retailers in women’s sizing.Stay tuned for official updates regarding the new silhouette and for more of the latest news from the footwear industry, the Nike P-6000 Premium has been equipped with a stealthy “Triple Black” finish that emphasizes versatility.
