In a recent industry report from Statista, the market insights company has taken a look at the most popular brands in the current sneaker culture. While many brands originally designed their signature shoe lines for athletic purposes, the mid-20th century saw a change in the way people consumed sneakers. Shoes were not just for functionality, but became a key part of one’s identity in fashion and pop culture. In its latest findings, Statista market research and consumer data have indicated that Nike is the world’s most popular sneaker brand. The data is gathered by the estimated global market share of the world’s most popular brands in 2022. Taking on 18% of the market share, Nike has the title of most popular brand, followed by the Jordan Brand which has captured 11% of the market and adidas in third with 9% of the market. Skechers and Vans tie in third and fourth taking on 7% of the market share each and Moonstar follows with 5% and Converse and New Balance each have 4% of the market. The report excludes purely functional athletic footwear, focusing on versatile footwear brands in sneaker culture. Specifically, in this report, functional sneakers include dedicated running shoes and football or tennis shoes. New Balance Made in UK Unveils Its “Underglazed” 576 Silhouette
New Balance’s Made in UK umbrella has just presented its latest 576 silhouette and this time, the sneaker has been dressed in an all-new “Underglazed” colorway.Crafted in New Balance’s family-run HQ in Flimby, UK, this latest version of the 576 takes inspiration from the brand’s original design and showcases an intricate combination of hairy suede, mesh, and synthetic details. Additionally, the shoe features a customary ENCAP midsole and motion control CR device made to provide enhanced comfort and stability for those on the move.Aesthetically, the shoe is hit with a combination of burgundy and orange hues, with the former taking over the majority of the silhouette’s body. Meanwhile, speckles of orange hit the sneaker’s heel counter, while a splash of gray is applied to the synthetic upper. Jordan Tatum 1 Arrives in “University Red”
This summer saw various releases of the highly sought-after Jordan Tatum 1. Jayson Tatum and Jordan Brand have released a string of new colorways including a clean, all-white iteration and a “Denim” version. Now, the show has released in a “University Red” as a part of the Team Bank collection.It’s been a busy summer for Tatum, who recently hosted some of the best guards and forwards in his Elite Camp in his hometown of St. Louis. The next colorway in his rotation now sees the Jumpman’s lightest shoe contrast the crisp, white sole unit with the bold “University Red” hues.
