Las Vegas-based retailer Feature is reuniting with Vans’ experimental Vault by Vans division for a haunting footwear collection that enters the “Double Down Sinner’s Club.” The duo first collaborated in 2018, releasing a rebellious “Sinner’s Club” pack. The “Double Down Sinner’s Club” range is the final partnership between Feature and Vans. The offering takes inspiration from retro Las Vegas lifestyles, revisiting the Old Skool and Authentic models with textured materials and vibrant hues. The Feature x Vans Vault Old Skool “Double Down” boasts beige nubuck uppers, hitting the medials and heels before running into navy-tinted toe boxes and heel caps. Thick corduroy panels replace traditional lacing systems, adorned with checkered tongue windows, inscribed laces, and casino-inspired graphic soles. The Vans Authentic is flipped in reverse, promoting a similar vintage aesthetic with embroidered touches. Brown corduroy textiles enhance the underlays, while navy blue accents hit the toe boxes with cursive “Double Down” lettering. New Balance is set to release a Made in UK 991 featuring panels of pre-distressed suede, a style that has become popular across the entire sneaker industry.While the shoe is not quite as distressed as the brand’s “white” 2002R Protection Pack released around this time last year and not laden with mud like Balenciaga’s 3XL Trainer — it does feature a fair bit of wear and tear but mostly wear.To the unaware, the pair might actually look like a standard 991 that’s simply seen better days as the distressing is not all too obviously manufactured but instead features stains, scuffs and apparent water-damaged suede that would occur over time through regular wear of a standard pair.The only aspect that might be a clue to the intentional distress is the fact that the mesh upper, leather bits, laces and sole have remained untouched, providing a contrasting element of a new shoe against worn panels of suede.A release date and price have not yet been confirmed for the Pre-Distressed Made in UK 991, although, it is expected that New Balance will release the shoe soon via its official site.In other footwear news, New Balance introduces the WRPD Runner.
