While the Air Jordan 1 KO has stuck around for years, Jordan Brand has again allowed it to shine throughout 2023 with the introduction of the Air Jordan 1 KO Low. Debuting courtesy of Union LA, the new low-top version of the silhouette has been overdue for decades. While it has occupied a majority of headlines this year, the high-top version has continued to take on new looks, including a satin “Field Purple” pair that recently appeared. Now, the Air Jordan 1 KO has been prepared with the classic “Laney” color scheme. Drawing from Laney High School in Wilmington, NC — where Michael Jordan played basketball before attending the University of North Carolina — “True Blue” and “Topaz Gold” combine for a familiar-yet-fresh look. Utilizing the AJ1KO’s classic canvas construction, the aforementioned blue hue occupies the base — save for the golden toe — and a majority of the overlays. On top of this, “Topaz Gold” stretches across the Swooshes, collar and laces with an off-white-on-blue sole combination to complete the look.At the time of writing, Nike has not yet shared any release details pertaining to the Air Jordan 1 KO in its new “Laney” colorway. However, it’s currently expected to launch on September 30 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $150 USD.Looking for more of the latest news from the world of footwear? Nike Adds the Dunk Mid to Its “Halloween” Collection
As October nears, Nike has begun to reveal its Halloween-themed colorways. For years, the brand has celebrated trick-or-treat season by outfitting various silhouettes in spooky renditions. Last year, one of its contributions was a Dunk Low with shadow effects throughout. Now, on top of working with the Air Force 1 Low and Ja 1, the brand has prepared a Dunk Mid for its festivities.Taking on a presentation that matches the aforementioned Air Force 1 Low, it has been outfitted with thematic details, from the ghoulish green outsole to the black and orange tongue tag. It has opted to again utilize a grim all-black upper with a scaly finish that hits the overlays and Swooshes. Meanwhile, the heel carries silver “NIKE” embroidery while the midsole similarly dons an all-black look. Rounding out the release, a thematic sockliner sees evil jack-o-lanterns appear alongside a fitting nighttime scene. At the time of writing, official release details regarding the Nike Dunk Mid “Halloween” and the additional colorways underneath the theme have not been shared. Stay tuned for updates as we expect it to launch around the holiday at the end of October via Nike and select retailers, with this pair priced at $140 USD.For more of the latest updates from the footwear space, the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High and Low “Rammellzee” are both scheduled to launch next week via Supreme.
The Broken Arm Uncovers Its Salomon X-ALPAGES GTX Collab
After releasing its take atop the XT-Quest 2 earlier this year, The Broken Arm is linking back up with Salomon this season to produce an X-ALPAGES GTX collaboration. For this initiative, the Parisian boutique and French sportswear imprint drew inspiration from the mountain hiking sphere and pieced together a sneaker that references outdoor equipment and trail signage.A myriad of materials forms the pair’s top half. There are contrasting suedes that arrive in smooth fashion across the quarter panels and in a shaggy style across toe toe boxes, both of which are dyed in a maroon hue. Ripstop pokes out through the collars and arrives in a bold red tone while a splash of pink dresses up the mudguards to call out the colors of hiking trail signs. Its also lined with GORE-TEX to combat wet climate conditions. In terms of branding, Salomon’s moniker is debossed on the lateral heels and a walking stick that is topped off with a tiny loop is embroidered into the tongues.Parties interested in copping a pair can find these launching on September 6 via The Broken Arm and globally via Salomon on September 13.For other news, check out the upcoming Notre x Salomon XT-4 collaboration.
