Early Look at the Jordan Air Ship “Tech Grey”

Jordan Brand is backing its Air Ship with a sizable amount of energy this season both on the inline and collaborative fronts. We’ve seen partners like Nigel Sylvester do his own friends and family team-up and Awake NY tease its own rendition of the shoe, and now it’s resurfaced onto our radar in the form of an ultra-clean “Tech Grey” colorway. As you can likely gather from its moniker, brighter neutral tones serve as the focus for this forthcoming installment. Like most of the Air Ship colorways that we’ve seen release to the masses, this variation leans on angelic smooth leathers to make up a majority of its upper. It makes up the perforated toe boxes and side panels while its titular hue dresses up the shaggy suede collars, Swooshes and treading. If you take a gander at the tongues, you’ll notice that they’ve been given an off-white tint which gives the kicks an aged aesthetic. If you weren’t able to get your hands on styles like the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 and Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Neutral Grey” colorways, this would certainly make a good alternative. These are slated to launch on June 7 for $140 USD via select Nike retailers like Asphalt Gold. For other news, Eastside Golf’s Jordan ADG 4 “1961” collaboration has been revealed.

The adidas Harlem Returns After 40 Years

adidas has continuously scavenged its archive to revive forgotten models. The latest pair with a new life is the adidas Harlem, which has been out of production for nearly 40 years. The 1980s basketball sneaker is revisited with close proximity to the original, maintaining all trademark details. The model was first released in minimal quantities, causing sneaker enthusiasts to hunt down pairs for years on end. adidas’ first reintroduction of the retro model boasts a vintage feel, crafted with supple white leather uppers and beige suede mudguard overlays. Three Stripes medial branding receives gradient-style detailing, featuring distinct shades of blue on each one. The simplistic pair is complete with technologically-advanced adidas Centennial Low soles for supreme comfort and agility. Take a closer look at the 2023 adidas Harlem in the gallery above. The silhouette will drop on June 6 via adidas and select retailers for $110 USD. In other news, Raf Simons’ SS23 runway brogue boots have dropped.

Ye Makes Over $25 Million USD From the First Day of adidas Yeezy Restocks

Despite an extremely public fallout between Ye and his long-time partnership with adidas, the most recent and one of the final releases of YEEZYs still remain at an all-time high in popularity. Ye’s controversial statements in the media sparked the entire downfall between the artist and many brand deals, most noteably adidas YEEZY. While Ye’s involvement with adidas is no longer a partnership, the deal termination has left adidas with over $500 million USD of YEEZY stock. However, as a compromise, adidas recently announced that it would resume selling YEEZY products. The catch is that the sportswear giant will be donating a portion of the proceeds to international organizations that support the groups that Ye has offended. Starting yesterday, adidas began rolling out one of three releases to sell off the remaining YEEZY stock. So far, the drop has seen incredible success. According to reports, 682,300 pairs of YEEZYs were released, selling $170.5 million USD in total. Despite the fall out with adidas, Ye still holds a hefty 15% royalty of the YEEZY products sold. That means that with the first release, Ye has made over a quarter of a $100 million USD — $25,586,250 USD to be exact — from the first release. With just two releases left, Ye is expected to make quite a profit as well. It goes to show that YEEZY sneakers remain a major interest to consumers, despite his antics. In case you missed it, take a first look at the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “World Make.”
