Looking back at October of last year, one of the most important collections for Summer 2023 hit the runway via Balenciaga. Its widely-discussed, and critiqued, “The Mud Show” brought all eyes to the brand with its loaded collection of chaos. As the collection’s retail rollout began, the 3XL Trainer stood out as a bestseller. The awkwardly-proportioned sneaker has taken on a wide variety of colorways, including recent “Fluo Yellow/Blue” and “Pink” looks. Now, following a preview in March, the 3XL Trainer has launched as a mule.Leading with a versatile all-black presentation of the new silhouette, the 3XL Trainer Mule chops off the sneaker’s heel at the upper, converting it into an easy-to-slip-on style. Constructed without leather, a blend of mesh and polyurethane has been employed throughout its build. Subtle Balenciaga branding appears at the toe and heel of the sole while extra laces appear around the forefoot. Included is a caution note that states that “extra laces are tied around the shoes for styling purpose and should be removed before use.”The Balenciaga 3XL Trainer Mule is now available via Balenciaga at a price of $995 USD in both men’s and women’s sizes.Stay tuned for coverage of additional colorways and in other exciting news from the footwear industry, Dior has officially revealed its latest sneaker — the B33 — featuring an authenticity-guaranteeing NFC chip and “Dior Tears” iterations.
