White Mountaineering and Merrell Connect for Wrapt Mid Waterproof Sneakers

One of the many collaborations from White Mountaineering for FW23 was one with fellow outdoor-focused label Merrell. After receiving a first look at the brand’s FW23 presentation earlier this year, we now get a closer look at the pairs as well as an official release date.Fusing the sensibilities of both labels, the upcoming Wrapt Mid Waterproof Sneaker is unapologetically built for the trail with colors and materials resembling a vibrant campsite. Uppers are found in a combination of pigskin suede, Merrell’s proprietary moisture-permeable waterproof membrane, and mesh lining. Contrast stitching provides character along the side panels, multi-colored eyelets are strung with thick rope laces, and mesh panels clip the heel for added comfort and breathability. Rounding out the pairs are heavily-treaded rubber outsoles in black.Take a closer look at the White Mountaineering x Merrell Wrapt Mid Waterproof Sneakers above and expect the pairs to drop on June 17 via White Mountaineering locations and online. View this post on Instagram A post shared by White Mountaineering®︎ (@whitemountaineering_official) View this post on Instagram A post shared by White Mountaineering®︎ (@whitemountaineering_official) View this post on Instagram A post shared by White Mountaineering®︎ (@whitemountaineering_official)Elsewhere in footwear, Nike LeBron 7 “Florida A&M” surfaces in “Gorge Green.”

Japanese Vinyl Toys Inspire the Nike Air Max 1 “Sofvi”

For Nike, the Air Max 1 is the silhouette that never sleeps. Throughout 2023, the classic trainer has been spotted in looks ranging from “Big Bubble” colorways pulled from 1986 to corduroy-covered pairs. Now, it dons another unique theme with its newly-revealed “Sofvi” colorway.Drawing inspiration from collectible Japanese soft vinyl toys, its special presentation is backed by detailing from the translucent outsole to the shoe box. First, its upper blends a white leather base with synthetic overlays in a translucent finish that features a mix of white and mustard brown. Chrome Swooshes light up the look on each side while an electric red coats the leather mudguard, matching the lining. A maroon paint covers the heel branding as red and gold go back and forth at the tongue hit. Supporting the sneaker, a translucent outsole rests below an off-white midsole with “Nike Air Max 1” text in Japanese at the bottom of the left shoe. Elsewhere, a retro graphic covers the sockliner with “Nike” text in Japanese on the left sneaker and typical Air Max branding on the right. Rounding out this thoroughly-detailed pair, a special shoe box featuring the graphic has additional Japanese text and a window for viewing the shoes that is reminiscent of the packaging used for various collectibles. As of now, no release information pertaining to the Nike Air Max 1 “Sofvi” has been disclosed by the Swoosh. Look for it to likely land on shelves this fall in women’s sizing via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $160 USD.For more of the latest and greatest news in the footwear space, CLOT has officially revealed its Nike Cork Dunk collaboration — featuring interchangeable Swooshes, 20th anniversary nods and more.

HAL STUDIOS® Previews Its ASICS GEL-1130 MK III “Glacier” Collab

Running sneakers have been dominating the fashion trends in recent years, and ASICS is taking advantage of the moment by putting out a consistent stream of hot-ticket collaborations and inline offerings. Its partnership with HAL STUDIOS® has seen a duo of minimal-yet-striking GEL-1130s in the last two years, and now both parties will be completing their trilogy pack with its freshly-announced ASICS GEL-1130 MK III “Glacier” colorway. The first round of campaign images of the kicks has surfaced on our radar, all of which reveal a sizable amount of details. In alignment with its nickname, the collaborative sneakers make use of its titular shade and splash onto its mesh build, toe tip overlays and tiger stripes, the latter of which are done up with cracked leather. Smaller notes of black peek out through the forefoot and near the throat while the hiker-style laces appear in a bold red hue. HAL STUDIOS® branding is presented on the heels and split between the tiny banners on the left and right kicks.Official release info hasn’t been announced yet, but you can likely expect these to drop in the coming weeks. In case you missed it, the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 has been revealed in a clean “Tarmac” colorway.
