New Balance Readies Monochromatic Additions To Its 1906R “Protection Pack”

Since its debut in 2021 via the 2002R “Rain Cloud,” the raw aesthetic of the New Balance “Protection Pack” has held its appeal, leading to the development of a number of alternate colorways. Last year, the intentionally disheveled look carried over to the New Balance 1906R silhouette, a reimagined retro runner which opts for an isolated ABZORB gel cushioning unit beneath the heel instead of the full-length seen on the original 1906.Fast-forward to day, the 1906R “Protection Pack” now continues to grow with two monochromatic “White” and “Black” colorways. The upcoming pairs arrive in mesh uppers with rugged leather overlays and N-Lock logos. Plastic guards reinforce the heel and rounding out the design are Ortholite insoles and classic N-ERGY sole units equipped with ABZORB SBS heel cushioning.Take a first look at the upcoming New Balance 1906R “Protection Pack” additions above and stay tuned for release details. In other news, Onitsuka Tiger launches Mexico 66 “Cactful” series.

Jordan MVP Gets the PSG Treatment

Jordan Brand has given a lot of love to its MVP silhouette, by dipping the shoe in a suite of classic colorways, from “Cardinal” and “UNC” to “Shy Pink” and a “Raptors” iteration. Created as a hybrid sneaker that pays homage to the Jordan 6, 7 and 8, the shoe has had mixed reviews within the sneaker community — with loyalists naturally questioning the need for it, while others favor the ‘best of both worlds’ type of approach. Following its recent linkup with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on the Air Jordan 6 Low, the two forces reunite for a special MVP iteration that is styled to go with any fit. Keeping it simple, the black upper is constructed with a combination of suede and nubuck, while the accents feature Nike’s iconic orange along the heel tab and Jumpman logo. Additional details include “ICI C’EST PANAME” messaging on the mudguard and translucent outsoles. For those looking to cop the latest pair, expect the Jordan x PSG MVP to drop in the coming months on Nike for $165 USD.In related news, the Air Jordan 7 appears in “White Infrared.”
