Jordan Brand and Nike respect the energy and perspective that Social Status contributes to the streetwear and sneakers landscape so much so that it will occasionally work with it on special collaborative launches and projects. ROA Steps Formally With Its New Loafer Silhouette
Sartorial attire is the last quality that comes to mind when we mention the brand ROA Hiking, but that’s just what the footwear imprint has explored with its all-new loafer silhouette.Arriving in either black or brown colorways, the loafer adopts luxurious touches beyond just a formal style. Tuscan vachetta leather is used across the upper, and it has been treated with a vegetable tanning technique that will develop a natural patina over the course of wearing the pair.In true loafer form, the throat bears a strap that incorporates a penny slot — only here, it is shaped like ROA’s mountain logo, seen once more in the usual embroidered format on the lateral toe bumper. Likewise, another signature ROA attribute makes its typical appearance; the Vibram sole unit. Here, ROA opts for a black Vibram Megagrip sole across both colorways, kitting the pair out with a rubber toe cap and a toothed tread pattern for optimum traction on rough ground.ROA’s sophisticated debut is a welcomed shift from its progressive collaborations with the likes of _J.L-A.L_ or even its recently-revealed slip-ons. Take a look at the new loafers above, and pick up both pairs from ROA Hiking’s website now for $517 USD.In case you missed it, check out this week’s biggest footwear drops.
Nike Hits Its Blazer Mid With Spray-Painted Swooshes
Nike has just presented the latest iteration of its Blazer Mid and the sneaker has now been hit with painted Swooshes in a look that proves that the silhouette still has room for adaptation and evolution following the shoe’s inception in the 1970s.And while Nike’s Blazer Mid has recently been unveiled with overall construction changes — in the form of the Blazer Mid Victory and Blazer Mid SB — this classic version of the silhouette now takes things back to basics, though its main detail comes in the form of a refreshing painted Swoosh. As a whole, the sneaker is covered in smooth black leather across the majority of the upper, while tonal suede detailing complements the eyestay, heel tabs, mudguard, and toe caps.Meanwhile, the white spray-painted Swooshes are applied to the side panels alongside the exposed foam tongues, red Nike branding on the tongues, and white embroidered detailing on the heels. A white rubber sole unit rounds off the design and this is hit with more rugged detailing around the toe section. You can take a closer look at the new Nike Blazer Mid above and it will be available to shop via the official Nike website and with select retailers in the coming weeks for $100 USD.In other footwear news, check out Vandy The Pink’s new Clarks Originals Wallabee designs.
