Ballaholic Reconnects With ASICS on the GEL-LYTE III OG

Throughout recent years, Japanese label Ballaholic has teamed up with ASICS to combine its streetball-inspired design language with the sportswear specialists. Most recently, the two unearthed the ASICS EX89, a shoe spotted on NBA courts back in the late ’80s. Now, the duo has taken on the classic GEL-LYTE III OG as part of their collaborative “Ball On Journey” campaign.Appearing as the fifth collaborative product from Ballaholic and ASICS, a “Harvest Pumpkin” nods to the orange of basketballs with a layered suede upper. Various co-branding elements make an appearance throughout the pair — ball embroidery at the tongue, gold Ballaholic script at the lateral heel and a medial heel note that lists “2023” on the left shoe and “Ball On Journey” on the right. Four lace colors in ivory, blue, green and “Harvest Pumpkin” are included and complement the various color details at the toe and multicolored sole unit.Having released previously via Ballaholic and ASICS, the sold out drop has made its way to HBX where pairs can be purchased at a price of $150 USD. Nike Adds Airbrushed Swooshes to Its Dunk Low

Nike has just presented a brand-new colorway of its Dunk Low silhouette, this time complementing the silhouette with airbrushed Swooshes. It’s no secret that Nike’s Dunk Low has had mainstream sneakerheads in a chokehold for some time now. And while silhouettes such as the Jordan 1 and Jordan 4 have been used as canvases for experimentation on a regular occurrence, the Dunk Low appears to be the it-shoe that consistently flies off the shelf upon every general release and collaboration. With this in mind, Nike’s latest Dunk Low iteration comes covered in an all-black hue, while the upper is hit with fabrications of leather. Additionally, the overlays receive speckles of nubuck and the customary Nike Basketball logos can be spotted on the insoles, tongues, and heel counters. The stand-out feature of the design, however, comes in the form of the airbrush-like Swooshes in white on the side panels, with its faded effect adding a pleasant feature to the overall aesthetic. Rounding off the design, this new Dunk Low is finished with white rubber midsoles and black rubber outsoles. You can take a closer look at the new Dunk Low above and it will be available to shop via the official Nike website and with select retailers in the coming weeks for $110 USD.In other footwear news, take a look at this new Air Jordan 1 Low.

Engineered Garments and K-Swiss Come Together to Reimagine the Classic GT

For its latest footwear collaboration, NEPENTHES’ New York-based label Engineered Garments has teamed up with Los Angeles heritage footwear brand K-Swiss. The unisex footwear collection is centered around a modernized version of K-Swiss’ Classic GT model, originally introduced back in 1966, marked by the utilitarian, rugged feel of Engineered Garments and the sophisticated minimalist design of K-Swiss.”I saw a brown leather K-Swiss shoe at that time and I remember that it looked so great,” said Daiki Suzuki. For the collaboration, Suzuki landed on a reimagining of the Classic GT, as it reminded him most of what he liked and grew up with in the ’80s.Engineered Garments Founder and Creative Director Daiki Suzuki notes that he had a keen interest in K-Swiss from when he first saw the brand while working at a store in Tokyo back in the ’80s. Suzuki also shared that the brown Classic GT is an homage to his favorite from the ’80s. Offered in three colorways, the reimaged cuts and textures of the Engineered Garments x K-Swiss Classic GT expresses the Japanese brand’s penchant for asymmetry. The exploration of asymmetry is most notable in the mix of D-rings and the usage of leather and suede in the construction of the uppers.”For K-Swiss it was an honor to collaborate with Engineered Garments – a brand that, just as ours, seeks to elevate designs, posing the question of how to redefine a Classic,” sais Senior Designer of Collaborations, Jon Tang. “This collaboration speaks to our identity, to push the limits of what elevated Classics can be.”Priced at $115 USD, the Engineered Garments x K-Swiss Classic GT collection will be available via K-Swiss, NEPENTHES New York, and at select retailers May 12. NEPENTHES New York will also be holding a release party (May 12, 7-9 p.m. EDT) to preview the collaboration.NEPENTHES New York307 W 38th St,New York, NY 10018,United States View this post on Instagram A post shared by Engineered Garments Official (@engineered_garments_official) View this post on Instagram A post shared by Engineered Garments Official (@engineered_garments_official) View this post on Instagram A post shared by Engineered Garments Official (@engineered_garments_official)For more footwear news, Jerry Lorenzo spotted wearing adidas x Fear of God Athletics sweatpants and sneakers.
