Nike Air Max 1 “Navy/Red” Returns as a Golf Shoe

When it comes to golf Nike has been applying a particular amount of energy into its Air Max series as of late, unveiling a revamped “Big Bubble” unit in anticipation of Air Max Day. Shortly after, the brand started to roll out its limited-edition releases for golf’s four majors using the AM1 as the centerpiece.Similar to “Sport Red” Nike has now rebooted another one of the classic Air Max 1 colorways for the golf course, this time with “Navy/Red.” The OG colorway first made its debut back in 1987, and the made-for-golf version is a mostly faithful recreation of the original pair.Featuring a similar theme of color blocking, a satisfying and subtle contrast is created between the pearly white mesh toe boxes and midsoles and the off-white leather paneling. As for the titular hues, those are found via the full-length navy suede mudguards, heel overlays and Swooshes. Meanwhile, red is used for the hits of Nike branding at the tongues, heels and insoles, as well as on the eyelets and toecaps. As with similar spikeless shoes, the tread pattern is raised to provide more traction on the fairwaysTake a closer look via the gallery above, taking note of the contrast of textures between the overlays, underlays and toe boxes. The kicks have no release date as of yet, but keep an eye on Hypegolf IG for updates.Elsewhere in golf, check out our recap of the first-ever Hypegolf Invitational in Korea.

Jaden Smith Flexes His Forthcoming New Balance Collaboration

Jaden Smith has a tendency to make statements with his fashion style, and for his surprise appearances at Coachella, he broke out one of his forthcoming footwear projects. His little sister Willow performed at the Indio-based music festival, and on both weekends he joined her on stage where he was rocking what appears to be a MSFTSRep x New Balance sneaker collaboration. The overall shape of the sneaker is very similar to the popular New Balance 550, but the uppers of this low-cut rendition appear to be engineered with full leather. Instead of an “N” logo on the quarter panels, this installment is adorned with a printed “NB” logo in a deep navy hue to match up with its tongue branding, collar accents and lace tips. The heels come prepared with the MSFTSRep seal to call out Smith’s streetwear label.Below, the midsoles are segmented into three sections, the heel piece of which is styled with tonal “New Balance” branding. This design feature is a call-out to Smith’s past New Balance Vision Racer team-ups which were constructed in a similar fashion. More information surrounding its public launch will likely surface in the coming months. For other news, check out a closer look at the upcoming size? x New Balance 580 collaboration.

Mizuno’s “Future Gardens” Pack Embraces Springtime Bloom

Japanese footwear imprint Mizuno is stepping into the warmer months ahead with the release of its all-new “Future Gardens” pack. Celebrating the blossoming evolution of nature, Mizuno shines a light on the peaceful connection between humans and their surroundings. The pack sees modern technology and outdoor growth collide to create a tranquil offering that honors tradition. The century-old label sets an angelic touch on its Wave Rider 10, Wave Mujin TL, and Wave Prophecy LS, grounded in white, cream, and purple tones. Each pair features mesh and suede constructions, the former mutually hitting the toe boxes and medial underlays. Mizuno’s Runbird logo receives diverse interpretations — blown up or kept small — on the profile sections. In addition, vibrant purple accents are found throughout, injected into Japanese iris tongue embroidery, rear insignia, and more. Finally, all three iterations are complete with marbled outsoles that mirror natural stones. Take a closer look at Mizuno’s “Future Gardens” pack in the gallery above. The sneakers will drop on April 28 via select retailers. Elsewhere, New Balance Made In USA unveils its 996 in hairy “Grey/Navy.”
