Official Images of the Nike Ja 1 “Day One”

For Ja Morant, the opportunity to create his own piece of footwear is a dream come true. Teaming up with Nike, he underwent an 18-month-long design journey that resulted in the introduction of the Nike Ja 1 on Christmas Day 2022. Later on, he and the Nike Basketball team sat down with us to discuss this process and the various decisions they made together — including the selection of this “Day One” colorway as his lead look. Now, after wearing various pairs on court for months, the Ja 1 is finally ready for lift off.Leading the charge with Morant’s “Midnight Series” of looks — as noted at the heel — the “Day One” features his own “Cobalt Bliss” shade of blue. Its theme revolves around the idea of Morant feeling as though he’s putting in the work while others are asleep with the midnight and 12am motifs representing this. Looking at the shoe, its Memphis Grizzlies-like light blue runs throughout the upper while the Swooshes appear in a lime green to watermelon pink gradient. Its Zoom technology-backed midsole appears in a pastel yellow while a sunrise pink adorns the outsole. Completing the release, nods to Morant appear at the tongue, unique sockliner, heel and packaging.Release is now expected to take place on April 19 via Nike and select retailers at a price of $110 USD — making it the least expensive signature shoe available from the Swoosh at this time. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nike Basketball (@nikebasketball)For more footwear news, an on-foot look at the Nike Ja 1 “Light Smoke Grey” has popped up.

Gum Soles Hit the Nike Dunk Mid “Cream Canvas”

Few silhouettes have seen as much collaborative action as the Nike Dunk. Between its classic low and high-top iterations — including the Nike SB-designed pairs — everyone from CLOT and fragment design to Supreme has utilized the timeless design. As it continues to dominate the sneaker market, Nike has opted to expand its offerings by reintroducing the Dunk Mid for 2023. While the Swoosh has yet to feature it in a collaboration this year, it’s starting to see plenty of action via its general releases. The latest look to pop up sees the mid-top in a “Cream Canvas” presentation. Its base layer kicks things off with a bright off-white canvas while its overlays from the mudguard to the Swooshes opt for a leather finish in a whiter hue. This color combination also appears at the branding scattered throughout the tongue, sockliner and heel. Rounding things out, support is offered by the white stitched midsole and gum outsole. As of now, no release details regarding the Nike Dunk Mid “Cream Canvas” have surfaced. It’s expected to release via Nike and select retailers later this year at a price of $115 USD.In other footwear news, Nike’s new Air Max Pulse has popped up in an all-black colorway.

Nike Goes All-Black With the Air Max Pulse

Building up to Nike’s annual celebration of Air Max Day in March, attention was split between past and future. Those looking back had their eyes on the Air Max 1 ’86 “Big Bubble” whereas forward-thinking sneakerheads were locked in on the special day’s debut of a new silhouette — the Air Max Pulse. Several colorways popped up before the official reveal and the Swoosh has spared no time in continuing to build its momentum.Following the appearance of an all-white colorway, the Air Max Pulse now sports an opposing “Black/Anthracite” color composition. A classic approach to any sneaker, its slick presentation places the emphasis on its various details. These features begin with the shoe’s textile upper that is joined by leather and synthetic overlays. From here, the foam midsole chimes in with a textile wrap while point-loaded cushioning at the Air unit offers ample bounce in your step.As of now, no release details regarding the Nike Air Max Pulse “Black/Anthracite” have popped up. Look for it to land on shelves via the Swoosh and select retailers in the coming months at a price of $150 USD.For more of the latest news in footwear, an on-foot breakdown of Ja Morant’s Nike Ja 1 “Light Smoke Grey” has surfaced.
