Goods & Services Partners with Clarks Originals For Bespoke Wallabee Capsule

Goods & Services has become known the world over for its bespoke footwear designs and artful re-crafting of beloved models, and now they’re teaming up with Clarks Originals for a custom Wallabee initiative. This isn’t your standard “brand x brand” collaboration either: the initiative enables the artisans at Goods & Services to re-work the Wallabee however they see fit, and they’ll be able to expand to other Clarks Originals silhouettes in the future as well. “We have full creative control, so this is more of an ongoing partnership,” says Goods & Services founder Rory Fortune. The first part of the partnership is two custom takes on the Wallabee. One features a handmade leather kiltie with custom broguing details, a storm welt midsole, meaning it can be re-soled over and over again, and a durable Vibram Gloxie sole. This unique, heritage-filed style is offset by the collection’s other offering, a more technical take on the Wallabee that boasts a custom winch lacing system, a rubber rand wrapped around the upper’s nether regions and a Vibram “Lite Wolf” hiking sole that’s made in Italy.Expect both styles to touch down on the Goods & Services webstore May 10th. Each pair will retail for $390 USD and ship in 3-4 weeks from the time of purchase as it’s made to order. Other styles from the partnership will be revealed in the coming months as well. For more from Goods & Servies and Clarks, check out this recent “Sashiko” Wallabee custom.

Junya Watanabe’s ASH Pearl Sneaker Is Embraced by Glistening Jewelry

Japanese designer Junya Watanabe is strongly tied to the international punk scene, often inspired by glam rock styles that put an eccentric twist on the modern-day wardrobe. From studs to chains, Watanabe has become synonymous with outlandish creations that garner a second look. While previously collaborating with New Balance and London’s Stepney Workers Club, the imprint now debuts its latest in-house footwear offering. The ASH Pearl Sneaker is an ideal representation of Watanabe’s design codes and reflects his contemporary outlook geared toward the new generation. The model is embraced by a black leather base featuring linear mesh underlays and 3M detailing on the tongue tags and laces. The sneaker is drenched in synthetic pearls and gold chains, dangling across the uppers and over the chunky white midsoles for an elegant look. The kicks are complete with star-imprint gum rubber outsoles. Take a closer look at Junya Watanabe’s ASH Pearl Sneaker in the gallery above. The offering is available now via select retailers, including Dover Street Market, for $1,200 USD. Elsewhere, Rone Footwear and New Balance collide for skate-ready Tiago Lemos 1010.
