Nike’s unofficial Air Max Day holiday is just around the corner, and the brand will be celebrating by blessing its fans with silhouettes new and old. For the latter, the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Big Bubble” — a silhouette that was part of the Swoosh’s’ original production run in ’86 before the Air Max 1 officially debuted ’87 — is making a return to the spotlight. As you can infer by its moniker, the key element of this forthcoming retro offering is the Air unit. Unlike the traditional Air Max 1s that you’ll see on the shelves today, this installment features a blown-up, elongated bubble that is designed to bring back the look and feel of its original design. In terms of its palette, the kicks are fashioned with its throwback “Sport Red” motif. Its titular hue ornaments the Swooshes, eyelets, mudguards and Nike branding on the tongues and heels while the overlays that are situated on the heels and quarter panels are done up with a classic lighter gray tone. Mesh toe boxes and the rest of the base is executed in pure white. An exact release date hasn’t been announced just yet, but you can likely find these launching via Nike and select retailers in the coming weeks leading up to Air Max Day.For other footwear-related news, peep a look at the upcoming Nike Zoom Vomero 5+ “Chill Blue” colorway.

A Chill “Worn Blue” Covers the Nike Zoom Vomero 5
When the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 first popped up in September of last year, it didn’t take long for sneakerheads to realize it was bound to have a moment. Nike has successfully brought the model back to relevancy without any collaborations — save for the kid-designed pair landing in this year’s Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XVIII collection. Aside from last week’s mind-bending “Timeless” look that combined the model with the Dunk Low, the Swoosh has stuck to what the silhouette does best — offering tasteful color arrangements that leverage the shoe’s layered upper. In its new “Worn Blue” presentation, the Zoom Vomero 5 finds itself in its typical form with bright and darkened blue hues landing throughout the upper. Off-white tones work complementary to the blues, arriving at the gauge mesh, laces, Swooshes and midsole. A “Football Grey” similarly supports the colorway, shining at the midfoot in a reflective form to complete the look. For those interested in purchasing a pair, you can expect the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Worn Blue” to land on shelves in the coming months via Nike and select retailers at a price of $160 USD.Stay tuned for official release details and for more of the latest in footwear, Supreme’s revival of the Nike Air Bakin leads the charge in this week’s best footwear drops.
