Unveiled during Yohji Yamamoto’s Fall/Winter 2023 presentation at Paris Fashion Week recently, we now have a closer look at the legendary label’s upcoming collaboration with Guidi. The team-up serves as the first collaborative effort between the iconic Japanese designer’s eponymous imprint at the storied Italian leather name.Comprised of three exclusive styles, the Yohji Yamamoto x Guidi FW23 effort is centered around tall boot sets with varied closure designs. Aside from Guidi’s signature front and back zip setups, we also see a heightened pair with back zips and traditional lacing systems at the front. Upper constructions come in black smooth leather and suede accented by silver-tone zippers. With January all but wrapped up, March inches one month closer. In preparation of this, Nike’s gearing up for its celebration of Air Max Day, an annual event that takes place on March 26. The original release date of the Air Max 1 back in ’87, the Nike holiday has since offered an array of special releases and silhouette launches. For 2023, it looks like part of the commemorative event will be the launch of the Air Max 1 “Design by Japan.”The result of a SNKRS Japan community event, the colorway was created as a collaboration between fans of the Swoosh and the brand itself. Various retro details give the look old-school flavoring with throwback branding on the tongue and heel and a dark yellow midsole nodding to aged Nike soles. As for its color composition, an olive green outfits the leather mudguard and midfoot panel with white mesh underlays and leather Swooshes brightening the look. A tangerine hue hits the heel while additional aged detailing appears at the tongue and laces which come in a dark off-white shade.Information regarding the release of the Nike Air Max 1 “Design by Japan” has not been shared yet by the Swoosh.
