adidas and Pharrell Williams are preparing to kick off 2023 in style with an all-new collaborative release. The duo’s long-lasting partnership continues to push out reimagined kicks every year, recently dropping a football-inspired Humanrace Samba collection. Pharrell’s Humanrace line is now setting its sights on the adidas NMD S1, seen on Williams himself at the Billionaire Boys Club x New York Yankees launch in August. The sneaker has now received official imagery and is set to hit retailers very soon. The fairly new model geared toward the lifestyle market is now given a striking makeover, while a similar build to the original is maintained throughout, accompanied by renewed details that give it a new life. The minimalistic take is delivered with an all-over canvas construction and striped of all Three Stripes decor, instead replaced with wavy Humanrace lettering that flows from the medials and onto the toe boxes. Titled “MAUBS,” the clean-cut model is presented in a dominant beige palette, while the rears are asymmetrically dipped in “Cobalt Blue.” Off-balanced rope laces sit atop knitted tongues in a slightly lighter hue, completing the pair with split-dyed rubber sole units fashioned with linear plaques and Trefoil grips on the outsoles. The latest to surface out of PUMA is an unlikely crossover as the footwear manufacturer dedicates a version of its PUMA Rise Nitro basketball shoes to PSG star Neymar Jr. The Brazilian footballer has been known to attend NBA games and is said to be a big fan of LeBron James.Reflecting Neymar Jr’s iconic flair on the field, the upcoming pairs come dressed in bright shades of “Ultra Orange” with “Blue Glimmer” accents offering additional structural support along the engineered mesh uppers. PWRTAPE is secured on the stretch lace covers which run all the way down to the toebox and Neymar Jr.’s custom PUMA logo is featured on the tongue tabs. adidas will continue to push out its new HYPERTURF Adventure model throughout 2023 and is preparing a batch of releases to keep an eye on. The brand recently shared official looks at several earth-friendly colorways such as the “Sand Strata” and “Magic Beige renditions,” now dipping the model in complementing tones of “Earth Strata” and “Core Black.” Wavy black leather mudguards start things off and melt into similar brown overlays that sit on breathable mesh underpinnings. The latter is seen on the medials in a slightly darker hue, while geometric leather panels are accented with striking linear details. Textured fabric enhances the ankle areas with angular “HYPERTURF” lettering, brought to life with vibrant green-colored sockliners. At the rears, rubber tabs are embossed with adidas’ Trefoil logo, while branded accessories and cushioned ADIPRENE+ sole units complete the offering with a black and grey tint.
