We’re just one month into the year and Stüssy is out to an early lead as one of 2023’s top collaborators in fashion and footwear. Between a GORE-TEX Hiking Boot project with Timberland and an anticipated follow-up capsule with Our Legacy WORK SHOP, fans of the brand have already been treated to plenty of great pieces for the year ahead. Now, it looks to be returning to Nike’s Air Max Penny 2 with a new tan colorway.Connecting with Nike last year to present the Air Max Penny 2 in “Vivid Green” and “Black,” Stüssy is running with its success by preparing the collaborative shoe in a light brown and black color palette. Collaborative notes return, including the iconic Stüssy script on the upper’s lateral in blue and outsole’s toe in black. This blue also appears at the Air unit while the otherwise black sole supports a soft tan upper with a black tongue, laces, heel branding and linework balancing the color composition.Early reports of this Stüssy x Nike Air Max Penny 2 colorway are pointing to a release date of February 14 via Nike, Stüssy and select retailers at a price of $200 USD. Stay tuned as we await official confirmation from either brand. In other collaborative footwear news, Drake’s NOCTA line has a pair of Swim Fins designed by Nike that have just leaked as part of an upcoming project.

New Balance Tokyo Design Studio Dresses Its 574 in Gray
New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio (TDS) has pioneered new collaborations and elevated models with its various footwear releases over the years. Kicking off its releases for 2023, the TDS 574 — which originally launched in 2018 — makes its return in a gray “2040” colorway.Inspired by New Balance’s 2040, the presentation features the silhouette’s signature combination of style and technology with various grays accented by navy, red and black hits. By removing the typical “N” logo found on the original 574, a neutral and modern look has been crafted. A black shark sole developed with Vibram technology gives another contemporary flair to the shoe while its mixed mesh and premium nubuck material composition offers classic New Balance detailing. The resulting pair is a careful balance of styling, landing somewhere between sneaker and dress shoe in its form.Landing on shelves as a release exclusive to Japan, the New Balance TDS 574 “2040” will be available on February 3. Look for it to arrive via New Balance Japan at a price of ¥30,800 JPY (approx. $236 USD) and stay tuned for any international release information. Drake’s NOCTA to Release Nike Swim Fin
While we’re braving the cold winter of January, Drake has his mind set on the tropical summer of July. Known for his lavish excursions across the globe, Mr. Champagne Papi has teamed up with Nike via his NOCTA line to release a new piece that will have anyone feeling like “The Boy.”In a world where the unexpected has become the expected, it’s safe to say no one had this idea on their mind. Introducing the NOCTA x Nike Swim Fin, the latest project from Drake’s collaborative line with the Swoosh. Arriving in an all-black presentation, our first look at the slip-on sees classic NOCTA x Nike branding on its tongue. Its slick shape built for the waters is joined by a note of blue at the heel’s pull tab featuring “A.W.R.” and “C.L.” text. At the outsole, a ribbed finish sees an “M” written on it, likely pointing to a Medium size.As of now, we’re uncertain when these might hit shelves. Stay tuned as we await official word on the collaboration from both parties, possibly going with an aquatic-themed apparel capsule for the warmer months of the year.
