A handful of materials are called upon to assist in forming its upper such as a smooth leather which forms the overlays around the toes, synthetics which makes up the side paneling and tongues as well as a breathable mesh which is found on the quarter panel’s windows and houses the Three Stripes branding. Tonal adidas Y-3 branding is raise on the tongues in both small and oversized font, and the laces start out on the toe boxes in unique fashion as the first set of lace loops are slightly skewed outwardly. The festivities of Chinese New Year are quickly approaching and in preparation of the celebrations that will kick off on February 1, Nike has assembled many a different new footwear renditions. The latest to be included in this commemorative batch is the Nike Blazer Mid “Chinese New Year” which is packed chock full of striking details on its upper half.When designing these kicks, the Swoosh team tossed out the traditional smooth leather material that you’d normally see on the uppers and instead brought in a quilted canvas fabric. The lateral and the medial sides are each treated with a trio of colors including a baby blue, dusted pink and a lighter gray, all of which alternate amongst its various textured panels. Bold red accents stand out overtly across the Swooshes, heel Nike branding and the laces, the latter of which loops through a buckle attachment near the collars instead of the usual eyelets. Moreover, a set of three jade embellishments affix to the lower lateral heels to further pronounce its Lunar New Year essence.Expect to see these drop sometime in February 2022 via Nike and other retailers.Elsewhere in the footwear space, Nike’s Waffle One “Pro Green/Rust Oxide” has been revealed.
