The Air Jordan 5 had quite an eventful 2022 as it was produced in collaborative form alongside CLOT, PSG and hip hop mogul DJ Khaled and saw nostalgic colorways like the “Green Bean” return to the frontlines. And now that those are in the rearview mirror, the Jordan model already has its eyes set on delivering the heat in 2023, and the latest to be brought to our attention is a retro release of the Air Jordan 5 “Burgundy” colorway.Originally during the AJ 5’s impressive run in 2006, the understated installment is set to make its way back to the shelves with all of its original design cues. Buttery suede upper panels are styled in a “Deep Burgundy” hue which is reminiscent of aged wine, and this is contrasted by “Flint Grey” shoe laces and reflective tongues. Lace toggles will have the usual see-through construction and the tongues will be fitted with Jumpman logos that are dressed in the pair’s titular shade. Spiky molds on the midsoles feature more “Flint Grey” accents while the bottoms are done up with icy constructions.Mark your calendars for a September 9, 2023 release and expect these to retail for $225 USD.In other news, Air Jordan 9 “Light Olive” official images have popped up.

Nike is slate to bring back the Air Foamposite One for 2023, releasing one of the rarest colorways of Penny Hardaway’s PEs.The shoe was originally debuted in 1997 and is offered in white, metallic silver, black, cobalt bliss and racer blue. color scheme as a nod to his time with the Orlando Magic between 1993 and 1999. The shoe specifically pays homage to the “Home” uniforms, featuring a white Foamposite shell and a black leather upper. The inner bootie, tongue, carbon fiber shank plate and heel are also all highlighted in black. The blue detailing is seen on the insoles and the three-line patter on the heel tab and tongue tab, while the rest of the shoe sits atop a translucent outsole to round out the design. The Nike Air Foamposite One “Penny PE” in White/Black is releasing in early 2023 at select retailers and on Nike for $240 USD. In other footwear news, the Jordan Brand dips the AJ1 Low Golf in navy.

Despite its prominence throughout the 2020s thus far, the adidas Forum’s true excellence comes from the ’80s. Once a dominating silhouette on the hardwood, the Forum High shined on the court with its stabilizing crisscross strap. Now, it has seen a resurgence in its many variants as a versatile staple in adidas Originals’ footwear lineup.Dubbed the adidas Forum 84 High, this version of the sneaker is a true homage to the OG Forum that supported basketball players around the world. In its last release before the year’s end, adidas has outfitted the shoe in a “Team Dark Green” that combines its titular hue with shades of off-white to create a vintage feel. Its design begins with a premium leather upper base that is joined by suede at its Three Stripes and heel counter. At the lateral’s midfoot, the adidas Originals logo is stamped in gold. Elsewhere, its top strap wraps over the laces which come in a darker off-white that simulates an aged effect, completing this throwback look.Available now, the adidas Forum 84 High “Team Dark Green” can be purchased via adidas and select retailers at a price of $130 USD.
