Karhu Returns to Moominvalley For Latest Sneaker Pack

Karhu has dived into the world of Moomin for its second drop of 2022, to release a two-piece sneaker collection which celebrates the cherished Finnish series.Created by author and illustrator Tove Jansson in 1945, the Moomins are a family of carefree, adventurous trolls from the eponymous Finnish storybook series. Following a duo of Moomin-centric drops in 2020, Karhu returns to Moominvalley for two fresh takes on the Fusion 2.0 and Aria 95 silhouettes. The epochal Moomintroll graces the upper of each sneaker, which on the whole takes direct influence from the story of Moominpappa at sea. The Fusion 2.0 arrives in hues of “India Ink/Chambray Blue” to evoke the Moomins’ journey at sea to find a new home, while the Aria 95 is doused in “Dawn Blue/Sleet” and utilises a sturdy mesh and a reflective M-logo as a nod to the rocky island lighthouse where the family eventually lands. Both silhouettes adorn splashes of red which are inspired by Moomintroll’s scarf, while vibrant geometric patterns highlight the colors of Moominvalley. The full Karhu x Moomin collaboration is set to drop on February 4 and will be available from the brand’s online store. In other footwear news, thisisneverthat has previewed its New Balance 860 V2 collaboration.

Jordan Brand Is Still Open To Collaborating With Kanye West

Jordan Brand is still open to reuniting and collaborating with the artist formerly known as Kanye West.Speaking on NPR’s The Limits with Jay Williams for his new book Jump: My Secret Journey From the Streets to the Boardroom, Jordan Brand chairman Larry Miller revealed that he wished Ye stayed with Nike. “I think he’s an incredibly creative and talented person,” the chairman shared. “I wish he had stayed with Nike, that would have been great. I can’t say that will not happen, I don’t know that it will, but I can’t say that it won’t happen, that we would at some point be able to do something with Kanye. I can’t say that it’s absolutely not going to happen.”In line with his comments on Ye’s creativity and talent, Miller added that an open yet realistic mind is needed to be able make a partnership work:“You have to be willing and open to taking his input, but then you also have to be able to, from the other side, manage the expectations and limits that are there. Because someone like Kanye may have this incredible idea that’s fantastic. Taking that idea and making it a reality is something that can be much more of a challenge. I think it’s really figuring out how to marry that creativity with the reality of what can and can’t be done…I haven’t worked directly with Kanye on product at that level so I can’t speak on how he operates and how that works. But to me, someone that has the creativity that he has, there’s got to be a balancing side to that to say, ‘Yeah that’s great, but when we look at these ideas, here are the ones we can actually make work.’”Check out the whole episode on NPR.In related news, Nicki Minaj opened up about her unreleased Kanye West collab “New Body.”
