J. Cole and PUMA Hoops’ RS-Dreamer “Proto” Was Never Intended to Be Released

When J. Cole and his Dreamville imprint began a partnership with PUMA Hoops, they created many a prototype style before settling on the RS-Dreamer’s final build. One of those early stage colorways, however, stuck with Cole — and now it’s going to get its moment in the spotlight, releasing as the RS-Dreamer “Proto.” Offering up the same low-cut construction and interesting anchored lacing system as its counterparts, the “Proto” differentiates itself by mixing tones both mild and wild. The majority of the upper is made of white mesh that’s overlaid with gray suede, while the textile “tubing” that wraps around the heel before meeting the laces is done up in a bright blue. Neon green detailing on the tongue tab offers a little extra detail, as does a Dreamville hit on the black heel clip. Moving to the lower half, PUMA’s signature Formstrip takes up residence in disguised fashion on the midsole. Its grey tone blends with the forefoot’s pink blocks and the neon heel piece, bringing a notable dash of vibrance into the mix. Icy gray outsoles round off the look. The PUMA RS-Dreamer “Proto” will release via the PUMA webstore come April 2. The MSRP is set at $125 USD.Looking for more footwear news? Air Jordan 35 Low Releases In No-Frills “White/Metallic Silver”

After releasing as a Guo Ailun PE and appearing in a colorful “Reflexology” makeup, Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 35 Low has hit shelves in a no-frills “White/Metallic Silver.” Boasting the same tech as the original Air Jordan 35 in a sleeker, low-cut package, the AJ35 Low retains the explosive, responsive nature of its predecessor, but offers a more free-feeling fit — ideal for speedy guards and slashing forwards alike. The key detail present on the “White/Metallic Silver” is its massive, reflective, Air Jordan 5-style tongue that rises well above the streamlined upper. This upper is composed of white leathers and synthetics, all of which are held together with Jordan’s Flightwire technology. Simple branded hits like #23 graphics and a Nike Air tag are scattered around the forefoot and heel.Down below, the signature Eclipse Plate 2.0 is done up in silver. Apart from providing support below the wearer’s arch, it encases the AJ35 Low’s cushioning system: Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel, given an extra snap of responsiveness due to the plate’s shape. The rest of the midsole is made from white EVA foam, and white outsoles with a herringbone traction pattern plus a black Jumpman graphic round off the look.Grab a pair of the Air Jordan 35 Low “White/Metallic Silver” on the Nike Japan webstore now for a tax-included price of ¥19,800 JPY (approximately $180 USD).Need more Jumpman news?
