New Balance and its in-line family has grown tremendously in the early months of the year with a handful of 237 colorways, as well as an X-Racer “Utility” with outer pockets. And now, the Boston imprint is pushing out another variation of the New Balance 996 which comes styled with a no frills “Light Gray” theme. For this installment, the New Balance design team forms the lifestyle-centric assemblage with lightweight mesh and suede overlays, both of which are coated with its nominal hue. Snowy white accents are also given some playing time here as they land across the smooth leather “N” logos, tongue tabs and overlays that diagonally fall across the heels. New Balance branding is present along the heels and atop the tongue, the former of which is executed with a gilded finish while the latter is worked in with a beige tone.More gray notes outfit the back portions of the midsoles, while the rest of the ground is presented in a crisp white. Rounding everything off is the treading which is given a full gum paint job.Retailers like atmos have these available to buy right now for ¥13,800 (approx. $126 USD).In case you missed it, Nice Kicks, Amoeba Music and New Balance just revealed two groovy 992 collaborations.

Nike’s ACG-Inspired Canyon Sandal Drops in “Cargo Khaki/Bright Citron”
Every year, the transition into spring is marked by the arrival of bright sunshine, warmer temperatures, cool breezes — and Nike’s Canyon Sandal. The Nike ACG-inspired design has become a seasonal staple for the Swoosh, and ahead of summer 2021 it’s released in a new “Cargo Khaki/Bright Citron” colorway. Blending outdoors-ready base tones with vibrant pops of Nike Sportswear flair, the Canyon Sandal is equally at home in the streets as it is on the trails.Uppers leave the wearer’s toes and heel exposed, but encase the midfoot in “Cargo Khaki” neoprene that’s rimmed with black. This top half is secured by a triple-strap system: black straps grace the forefooot and midfoot, while signature “Bright Citron” appears in heathered fashion on the heel strap. A bold sport blue is used for branded hits, namely the Swoosh on the top strap and a Nike spellout on the collar tab. Black footbeds and outsoles sandwich a gray EVA foam midsole that’s speckled with black to complete the look. The Nike Canyon Sandal in “Cargo Khaki/Bright Citron” is available now via the Nike webstore, and is priced at $75 USD.For more from the world of the Swoosh, take a look at on-foot shots of Paul Rodriguez’s Nike SB Dunk Low “What the P-Rod.”
