Nike and its roster of hoop athletes is arguably the best in the business, and this season, the Swoosh’s basketball division is crafting a new capsule entitled “Play For The Future” for LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Paul George that champions sustainability. The Nike PG 5 was previously unveiled, and now Beaverton has given us a detailed perspective of the LeBron 18, KD 13 and Kyrie 7 iterations that are enlisted in the assortment.For the Lakers’ 18-year veteran, his latest model comes prepared with an icy palette as its Knitposite uppers are lent a clean white surface, while the protruding heel counter and midsole molds down below balance out with faint blue hues. Where this court-ready iteration gets environmentally friendly is through the tongues and heel underlays, both of which are decorated with multi-colored Regrind materials.Shifting over Durant’s makeup, his KD 13 takes a slightly darker approach by being anchored with silver-uppers and marbled blue and white patterns that run from front to back. Additional accents arrive by way of the pastel green Swooshes and interior lining, as well as the scrappy accents that are positioned below the ankle collar’s see-through film. Below, the installment is mated with speckled midsoles and translucent treading.For Uncle Drew, Nike takes a different route and opts for a much louder presentation. Netted base layers cage over a vivd backdrop of orange and black abstract patterns, and arrive neighbored by a stark black spine that hosts a remixed “KI” logo with floral petals that poke out from the top. Regrind fragments also see their way to the forefoot and Swoosh logo molds. With the end of February in sight and spring around the corner, much of the world is looking forward to the vernal season’s warm embrace. Vault by Vans is among those numbers, and to celebrate the impending change of seasons, it’s prepped an “OG Pack” of new takes on the Authentic and Chukka — all of which boast floral embroidery.The offerings are kicked off by a duo of Authentics: a faded purple shade Vans calls “Smokey Grape” that’s trimmed with golden “Dried Tobacco” accents and a bright red “Cardinal” with lively orange “Persimmon” embellishments. On the other end, the Chukka Boot is the calmest of the bunch with its “Marshmallow” base colorway. However, it’s not without its pops of vibrance thanks to sporty blue accents. All three pairs place their contrasting colors on foxing stripes, heel strips and eyestays, and boast a simple-yet-effective embroidered floral pattern centered around daisy-like flowers. White midsoles and classic waffle outsoles finalize the trifecta of looks.Expect the Vault by Vans “OG Pack” to release at select Vault by Vans accounts like HBX on March 1. Salehe Bembury and ANTA released a veritable plethora of SB-01 and SB-02 colorways in January, and now the two have prepared a substantial second drop as well.Announced on Bembury’s Spunge Instagram page with photos featuring actress Jamie King, the drop will include every colorway of the high-top, convertible SB-01 and select styles of the popular low-top SB-02 like “Chai” and “Chicle Cream.” The SB-01 is centered around its removable inner bootie, which can be worn either in tandem with the upper’s shell and outsole for a durable feel or by itself for a sock-like fit. On the other end, the SB-02 boasts a recognizable oval design language on the upper. Each also equips Nest cushioning — a technology inspired by the bird’s nests Bembury frequently encounters on his daily hikes — for fit and feel.The Salehe Bembury x ANTA SB-01 and SB-02 will release on Bembury’s Spunge webstore on February 24 at 10 AM PST (1 PM ET). The SB-01 is priced at $120 USD while the SB-02 arrives at $90 USD. Interested parties can also register for the Spunge mailing list to receive a password for the release an hour early. Elsewhere in the world of footwear, Nike is set to re-release the classic Air Tuned Max “Celery.”
