How do you make a running shoe faster? It’s a question that footwear brands are on an endless hunt to answer, and Under Armour’s latest crack at the riddle is the new Flow Velociti Wind. Dubbed UA’s “fastest running shoe yet,” the Flow Velociti Wind is centered around a Flow cushioning system that completely eliminates the need for a shoe’s heaviest piece: the rubber outsole.First debuted on Steph Curry’s Curry Flow 8, the Flow underfoot setup is a soft-yet-supportive foam that boasts a natural tack to ensure all-condition grip. Though some runners may wince at the thought of an exposed foam outsole, the Flow’s setup is the result of 15 rounds and over 11,000 miles of wear testing, ensuring it won’t swiftly bottom out.Atop this flexible base sits a knit UA Warp upper, with supporting “tapes” inspired by seatbelts. These strong structures flex when pressure is applied and stay still when it’s not, enabling reactive, adaptive support that doesn’t pinch the wearer’s foot. The combination of Warp and Flow makes for a stunningly light shoe, with a men’s size 9.5 weighing in at a scant 8.5 oz. Launch colorways include white/red/black, neon green/black and white/gold/silver.“UA Flow is another huge leap forward for Under Armour — and it opens up the possibilities for future models and seasons,” said Josh Rattet, Under Armour’s Vice President of Global Footwear. “We have been deliberate and focused on our quest to build an authentic and credible run brand over the past few years, and the UA Flow Velociti Wind is truly a testament to our team’s commitment to creating solutions to make all runners better.”Expect the Under Armour Flow Velocity Wind to release on the brand’s webstore come March 3, priced at $160 USD.For more news on upcoming sneaker releases, check out the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s weekly Best Footwear Drops list.

Kid Cudi’s adidas Vadawam 326 to Release in Third Colorway
Kid Cudi and adidas are back again, following up the December 2020 debut of the Vadawam 326 with a new makeup dubbed “Footwear White/Orange Tint/Dark Brown.” Inspired by sci-fi movies and named after Cudi’s daughter Vada, the latest Vadawam colorway is equal parts retro basketball sneaker and moon boot — a fitting design for someone who’s long dubbed himself the “Man on the Moon.”Artillery Hi-inspired uppers reach well above the wearer’s ankle and feature a layered leather and suede composition. The shoe’s collar, base and heel clip are done up in stark white or natural bone tones, while overlays take on a variety of brown shades. Though blue rope laces do snake up the midfoot, they’re quickly overpowered by three brown leather Velcro straps that serve as the shoe’s primary fit system. “326” is printed on the lateral collar for a nod to Vada’s birthday, with a blue collar liner and berry-colored eyestays adding further vibrance. Down below, an Edberg Torsion Comp-style midsole rounds off the look.Though adidas has yet to announce an official release date for this new Vadawam 326, retailers like Asphalt Gold have it listed for a February 27 release. If it falls in line with past models, the MSRP will be set at $180 USD.For more news on upcoming sneaker releases, take a look at the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s weekly Best Footwear Drops list.
TOMBOGO Uncovers Custom Dr. Martens Wincox and Fulmar Models With Detachable Pouches
Ahead of his forthcoming “Lost and Found” FW21 New York Fashion Week runway show, TOMBOGO has pulled back the curtains for his custom footwear pieces with Dr. Martens. The Bay Area-bred designer hand selected three silhouettes to work on including the Wincox, Fulmar and the Ziggy, the first two of which are permuted with detachable pouches while the latter is given a worn-in aesthetic.Original cues for the Wincox and Fulmar are kept consistent as you have both offerings arriving with their traditional mid and low-cut heights, surrounding belt buckles and smooth black leather builds. Customary vivid yellow accents poke out through the exposed midsole stitchings of both pairs, while the high-profile entry also shows them off atop the heel tabs. From there, the utilitarian-inspired elements take over as medium-sized removable pouches rest on the lateral sides. Silver buttons are arranged at the top of these miniature storage units, while a bold red TOMBOGO banner with white lettering runs down the middle.Additionally, the out-of-the box creative applies his touch to the classical Ziggy by using a special paint and dye method to rework the silhouette with a vintage, worn-in vibe.Check out a closer look right here, and note that his presentation will air on February 17, 2021 at 9am ET here. For more footwear news, a Yohji Yamamoto x Dr. Martens’ 1461 was recently unveiled.
