The Nike Air Force 1 and Blazer Mid ’77 “Popcorn” Celebrates the Movie Theater Favorite

After surfacing at the start of the month, we now have a closer look at the “Popcorn” Nike Air Force 1 and Blazer Mid ’77.Inspired by everyone’s favorite cinema treat, the upper base of shoes are constructed of tumbled leather accented by either pure white or buttery “Coconut Milk” elements depending on the model. The contrasting hue that serves to express the popcorn inspiration is found on the Swooshes, heel tabs and laces. Additional branding comes in the form of reworked “NIKE” hits that reference classic packaging on the tongues, heels and insoles. The popcorn-inspired accents come in the form of the full print insoles, metal lace charms and “fresh since ’82” and “fresh since ’77” marking the respective debut years of the footwear models. Rounding up the design of the shoes are sole units that follow the contrast plays found on the uppers and a special shoebox with wrapping paper that continues to celebrate the theater classicPriced at $110 and $130 USD, the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 and Air Force 1 ’07 are set to release on Nike SNKRS and at select retailers March 9, 11 p.m. EST.For more footwear news, take an official look at the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Light Army.”

Official Images of the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas ZX 8000 SUPEREARTH

Sean Wotherspoon and adidas’ sustainability-focused collaborative efforts are set to enter a new chapter with the release of the ZX 8000 SUPEREARTH. First premiered by Wotherspoon himself in September 2020 and following a Superstar SUPEREARTH collaboration, Wotherspoon’s ZX 8000 is unlike anything in the A-ZX lexicon thanks to its patchwork-style build and rough-hewn details. Uppers are culled from a hodgepodge of textiles, ranging from earthy tones on the toebox and around the collar to plaid mudguards and tongues. Orange makes its presence felt on the heel and midfoot, with neon green gracing the laces. Wotherspoon’s signature dangling embroidered flowers appear in red, neon green and white on the lateral side, all with long, uncut strings that touch the ground — a style carried over from his Superstar. The medial side eschews floral detailing in favor of seven different embroidered Trefoil logos placed in abstract fashion, and a translucent heel clip shows tangled threads under its TPU build. Natural-toned midsoles provide the shoe’s only straightforward piece, and special SUPEREARTH branding appears on tongues, heels and insoles alike. Among these three spots, it’s most notable on the tongue where it sits above a screen printed graphic of Earth. The Spoonman’s initials are placed on the midsole’s yellow Torsion bar to complete the look. The Sean Wotherspoon x adidas ZX 8000 SUPEREARTH is set to release via the adidas webstore on March 12, likely priced at $140 USD.For more news on upcoming sneaker releases, check out the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s weekly Best Footwear Drops list.
