Tokyo’s Bloody Angle Receives Its Own adidas Superstar Collaboration

Collaborations from adidas have been pumping out at extremely high rates this season as we’ve seen the brand link up with the likes of Praying, Wales Bonner and Mark Gonzales for special projects. And to keep this impetus going, the German sportswear imprint is traveling to Japan to connect with Tokyo’s Bloody Angle vinyl café bar for a fresh adidas Superstar collaboration. The most noticeable feature here is that the shoes are constructed with a laceless build which is reminiscent of the aesthetic that iconic hip hop collective Run-D.M.C. popularized with the Superstar. A majority of the kicks are done up in a stark black hue, and the side panels have been treated with a pleated synthetic leather that channels the look and feel of a vinyl record. Purple trimming is added to the stripes, heels and insides of the tongues while the lining ushers in more contrast with its red walls. In terms of branding, you’ll find Bloody Angle’s moniker stamped to the lateral heel and on the hangtags which are shaped to the silhouette of an actual record.Retailers like atmos Tokyo will be dropping these on June 16 for ¥17,600 (approx. $131 USD).In other news, the laceless adidas YEEZY BOOST 700 MNVN “Phosphor” has been unveiled.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
