Shawn Kemp’s Reebok Kamikaze II “Batik Blue” Supplies Two-Tone Style

Shawn Kemp’s Reebok Kamikaze II has appeared in an abundance of colorful makeups over the summer months, ranging from a Kamikaze II Low that looks straight out of the ’96 NBA All-Star Game to a Kamikaze II “Modern Beige” that’s equal parts hoops and hiking. Now, however, Reebok is taking Kemp’s shoe back to “basics” with a new “Batik Blue” colorway. Offering simple two-tone colorblocking that highlights its wavy upper detailing, the Kamikaze II “Batik Blue” packs plenty of ’90s hoops style into its build.Uppers use “Batik Blue” — a dark, navy blue-style shade — as the base on both the lateral and medial sides. This base is overlaid with swooping white leather patterns that zig and zag down from the top eyestay to the toebox and also wrap around the heel. Toeboxes are done up in white leather for contrast, and Reebok’s Vector branding appears in three places: the lateral forefoot, the tongue badge and the heel. Zig-zagging hits of white and navy continue down onto the midsole, which is loaded with classic DMX cushioning for a finishing touch of retro detail.Look for the Reebok Kamikaze II “Batik Blue” to release via the Reebok webstore on August 20. Its MSRP is set at $120 USD.If you’re searching for more hoop shoe news, be sure to check out official images of Aleali May’s upcoming Air Jordan 14 Low collaboration.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
