Draymond Green’s Converse G4 “Hyper Swarm” PE Will See a Retail Release

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is one of the key pieces of Converse’s basketball roster, and over the course of the 2020-21 NBA season, he’s been taking the court in a special G4 “Hyper Swarm” PE. Now, just ahead of Green and the Warriors’ play-in game against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, Converse has announced that the “Hyper Swarm” will receive a retail release. The G4 comes in both high and low-cut versions, and the “Hyper Swarm” falls into the latter category. It’s built from a yellow synthetic mesh, and features bumblebee-like black detailing on its midfoot logo and collar. Midsoles are done up in black as well, and boast the G4’s unique hybrid cushioning setup: React foam surrounding a forefoot Zoom Air unit for a feel that’s both supportive and responsive. The look is rounded off by translucent outsoles with a brown tint, a compelling alternate take on classic gum outsoles.Draymond Green’s Converse G4 “Hyper Swarm” is set to release on the Converse webstore come May 26 and will be priced at $110 USD. You’ll also be able to catch it in acton on Green’s feet if the Warriors are able to make inroads in the playoffs.Elsewhere in the world of Converse, the brand has readied an expansive collection in celebration of Pride Month.

PUMA Celebrates J. Cole’s ‘The Off-Season’ with New DREAMER 2 “Off-Season Red”

The hoop game and the rap game are intertwined for J. Cole, the platinum-selling artist who released his new The Off-Season album and made his professional debut in the Basketball Africa League all in the span of a week. And much like how Cole seamlessly brings the two worlds together, PUMA is aiming to do the same on his latest signature model — the DREAMER 2, a shoe that’s set to release in an “Off-Season Red” in celebration of Cole’s accomplishments.Sported by Cole during his Basketball Africa League debut and also worn on court by fellow PUMA Hoops team member Skylar Diggins-Smith of the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, the “Off-Season Red” lives up to its name with a mostly red mesh, suede and leather upper that’s inspired by the RS-0, RS-100 and RS-X, and bordered by black toeboxes, tongues, collars and heel pieces. Its signature details include an interesting tubular eyestay setup, a Dreamer logo on the heel that calls out to both the shoe’s name and Cole’s Dreamville label plus a bold branded hit on the tongue. Down below, midsoles that use PUMA’s hoops-tuned ProFoam cushioning setup complete the look. The J. Cole x PUMA DREAMER 2 “Off-Season Red” will release on the PUMA webstore come May 21, and is priced at $130 USD.Moving from hoop shoes to casual kicks, candy purveyor Haribo recently teamed up with PUMA for a two-pack of casual kicks.
