One of the reasons Nike has been able to sit at the top of the sportswear list for so long is because of its innovative technologies, one being Air. And this year, the brand is saluting Frank Rudy — inventor of the industry-shifting cushioning system — with a special Air Max TW colorway. The stand-out element of these kicks is the hang tags which are formed to mimic the look of air pressure gauge to visually nod to the famed aeronautical engineer’s patent. If you peek inside the shoes, you’ll also notice that they’ve been decorated with blueprint-inspired Air Max sneaker graphics to echo its scientific motif. The right footbed is also stamped with Rudy’s signature. Extra decorations to call out include the retro Nike pinwheels that are embroidered into the heels as well as the beige suede overlays and blue and golden yellow accents that are sprinkled across the base. Down below, the heel molds are blasted with a bold blue hue while more yellow hits are injected into the Air bubbles.Check out a detailed look at the pair in the gallery above and note that Nike and other retailers will be dropping these in the coming months. In other news, LeBron James’ Nike Air Zoom Generation “First Game” colorway is returning.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
