Bruno Sialelli’s Lanvin has come leaps and bounds where its footwear is concerned, capitalizing on the ’90s and Y2K skateboarding counter-culture scene with its Curb Sneaker. Now, Lanvin is looking to the future with its all-new Flash-X Sneaker.Technical materials are all made to measure and are placed alongside mesh and TPU paneling to create a playfully round, bulbous, comfortable sneaker that also edges on futuristic design cues. PU microfiber and EVA foam also appear in the shoe’s construction, coming together for a sneaker that’s indebted to both retro runners and something out of this world.Lanvin’s Flash-X comes to a point at the toe but finds an asymmetrical piece of tire-like rubber working the toe, sitting alongside an off-set toe box in mesh. Colors such as “Ecru/Golden” give the Flash-X an even more daring aesthetic, as black graphics give the shoe an animalistic quality. However, in “Bianca” and “Lanvin Blue,” which is somewhere between sky blue and eggshell, the shape appears softer. For something more tactile, opt for “Nero,” as the blacked-out design — complete with webbing tabs, tonal branding and Mère et Enfant logos — makes for a more menacing look.Take a look at the Lanvin Flash-X above, and pick up all four colorways now from the house’s website and boutiques for $1,150 USD a pair.In case you missed it, catch this week’s issue of Sole Mates.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
