In 2012, Kevin Durant and his Nike team crafted a special Nike KD 4 colorway to honor his Aunt Pearl — who unfortunately passed away in 2000 in a battle against lung cancer. Since then, the Swoosh’s basketball division has kept this tradition going on each of the Brooklyn Nets All-Star’s signature sneakers, and now it has officially unveiled the Nike KD 14 “Aunt Pearl.”The kicks are rife with various patterns, materials and intricate details. Base layers are engineered with a soft pink knitted material and come outfitted with all-over swirly patterns. Dusted pink accents also make their presence felt here on the tongues and laces, the former of which splits its gilded branding between “KD” on the right shoe and “”Aunt Pearl” on the left. Heel counters have been sculpted with wing-like shapes — a detail that we’ve previously seen on the “Aunt Pearl” KD 12 and KD 7 makeups. Inside the shoes, the inner layer of the tongues and the insoles read “”In Memory of Aunt Pearl, Who Inspired Us All To Continue To Fight For Cure” and are accompanied by Kay Yow branding.Midsoles bring in more playful elements as they are fitted with two shades of pink and speckled patterns, and the outsoles are treated with gum skin. Parties interested in adding these to their hoops collection can find these dropping in 2022 for $160 USD.In case you missed it, M. Williams’ Nike yoga collection just dropped.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
