DTLR and Jordan Brand Open Pop-up Art Installation

Lifestyle chain DTLR, with more than 240 stores in 19 states, opened a pop-up art installation in Washington, D.C., in partnership with Jordan Brand to celebrate the re-release of the iconic Air Jordan 11 Cool Grey and the debut of the Air Jordan 11 Black & White this holiday season. The Air Jordan 11 Cool Grey was first worn by Michael Jordan in 2001 during a Washington Wizards game.
The exhibit celebrates the capital city’s connection to the shoe and features artwork from four local female artists—Lex Marie, Dyymond Whipper-Young, Anisha Murdock and Keiona Clark—who channel their creativity to create unexpected works of art. The pop-up exhibit debuted Dec. 7 and runs through Dec. 12 from 12-7 p.m. daily at 713 7th Street NW, Washington, DC. The exhibit is open to the public and admission is free.
“DTLR is excited to collaborate with Jordan Brand to celebrate the debut of the AJ 11 Black & White and honor the iconic Air Jordan 11 Cool Grey in the city where the legacy first began,” says Shawn Caesar, vice president of marketing at DTLR. “This installation aims to celebrate the shoes through the lens of talented local female artists, who have channeled the history of the brand to produce unique and unexpected works of art.”
The installation is showcased in a space that was recently renovated by DTLR and Jordan Brand in hopes to leave behind an improved space for local artists to showcase their work in the future through  Arena Social and the DMV League of Artists.
