LAIKA — the American stop-motion animation studio — has delved into the realm of sneaker collaborations before with the likes of Nike, and now it’s transferring its creative energy to Converse. In a similar fashion to Tyler, the Creator’s GOLF WANG imprint, LAIKA is the latest imprint to be featured as part of the Converse By You initiative, and this will allow customers to personalize the classic Chuck 70 Hi with graphics from some of most notable films. There will be a total of 20 options for the upper half alone, and this includes eight colors and 11 prints, two of which are inspired by each of the following films: Missing Link, Kubo and the Two Strings, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman and Coraline. Iconic imagery and motifs include Coraline’s raincoat and ParaNorman’s bedroom poster. In addition, animation fanatics will also have the option to accessorize their film-inspired sneakers with six different lace colors, a trio of rubber and eyelet colors as well as medial patches and heel prints that reference each of the Oscar-nominated motion pictures.Interested in copping?
