Fresh off a collaboration with California eyewear company, GLCO, Slam Jam has collaborated with Converse on a timeless reinterpretation of the Chuck Taylor All Star.As the shoe that arguably defined the 1970s, the Chuck 70 was an integral part of basketball culture, in terms of function and utility. Slam Jam founder Luca Benini, who continues to draw inspiration from American culture from the ’70s and ’80s, sought to approach the classic silhouette through the lens of deconstruction. The edges of the upper are frayed to incite a refined but modern punk-rock aesthetic. The shoe comes with a white pinstripe rubber outsole, loose-lined black textile upper with a sleekly printed Slam Jam logo.Additionally, the collab comes with pared-back grey laces, a woven flag label and a customized box with branding from the legendary Italian streetwear giant. The Slam Jam Chuck 70 High Sneakers is available to purchase for € 110 EUR / $129 USD.In case you missed it, Dr. Martens added four new iterations to its Tarik Boot.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
