Summer really is Suicoke’s season. The Japanese footwear brand has expanded its product line far beyond its famous strappy sandals but they really are the star of the show, blending gawky cool straps with sturdy Vibram soles to great effect. As the weather warms, its collaborations bloom, as evidenced by Suicoke’s new joint effort with minimalist brand beautiful people.beautiful people, a low-key yet high-end Japanese label, already delved into sporty partnerships earlier this season with a mizuno collaboration but this Suicoke drop is especially pared-back. A peer to refined women’s brands like Hyke and PHEENY, beautiful people’s quiet elegance is reflected in three special DEPA sandals, quietly elevated to meet its specifications and executed in women’s and men’s sizing alike. All three of the models feature custom tape in place of the usual tonal straps, reflecting the simple statement logo that occasionally graces beautiful people’s garments. The black model goes completely dark with a single-tone shade while the navy and ecru models sport contrasting text on the straps and lighter colored outsoles. Otherwise, the shoes retain Suicoke’s molded Vibram footbed and cushioned heel strap, ensuring that they’re as effortlessly comfortable as any of the Japanese brand’s warm weather shoe silhouettes. The collaborative Suicoke DEPA available on beautiful people’s website for ¥27,500 JPY (approximately $252 USD).Suicoke has been nothing if not busy recently, cooking up a freakish collaboration with Midorikawa, slick John Elliott slides and even a forthcoming NEIGHBORHOOD silhouette.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
