Balenciaga Drops Its Runner Sneaker in a Clean “Black/White” Colorway

Despite the Balenciaga Runner only being a few months old, the chunky retro-inspired sneaker is already one of the designer label’s hallmark silhouettes, and now it has dropped in a fetching colorway of “Black/White.”As per the Demna Gvasalia aesthetic, the Runner features a complex design comprising various overlapping panels made from leather-esque materials, mesh, and multiple distressed components that come together for a design akin to running sneakers from the ’90s, as if they’ve been worn regularly over the last 30 years.Stitching is lightly frayed, puddles of glue appear all around, and distressing has been applied to the sole to give the shoes a worn-in, dirty look, while sizing on the toe appears in a Tippex style for yet another nod to DIY distressing. However, contrasting these casual touches are lashings of Balenciaga branding, hitting up the tongue, vamp, and heel, where more sizing can be found on the latter alongside a rope lace hooped heel tab.Rounding out the pair is “RUNNER” branding that’s been stamped onto the multi-piece sole unit. Balenciaga’s Runner in “Black/White” can be seen above and bought from Balenciaga’s stores and online now for $1,150 USD.If you thought this shoe was expensive, take a look at this rare Nike SB Dunk Low that sold for over $130,000 USD.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
