Red Wing Brings Mario’s Shoes to Life

Not long after we caught wind of MSCHF’s Astro Boy boots, we now get a look at another pair of footwear that’s made it from the world of cartoon make-believe, to reality. Celebrating the premiere of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Mario’s first leap to the big screen, Nintendo and Illumination work with heritage footwear company Red Wing Shoes to “translate every on-screen pixel into a real-life stitch,” producing a prototype pair of Mario’s iconic shoes. View this post on InstagramA post shared by HYPEBEAST (@hypebeast)“At Red Wing Shoe Company we’ve been supplying long-lasting, durable, and comfortable footwear that protects trades workers on the job site for 118 years. We were excited to deliver that same ambition and energy to Mario’s Boots as one of the most famous plumbers in the world!” said Dave Schneider, CMO of Red Wing Shoes. The 3-eye prototype pairs are made of durable, natural leather with slip-resistant treads designed for a super plumber. Extra touches include The Super Mario Bros. Movie fabric tabs and heel tabs made of mushroom-based mycelium, providing a “welcome power-up to help Mario take on Bowser and his army.”The Red Wing Mario Boots will arrive at Nintendo New York at Rockefeller Center via a Super Mario Bros Plumber Van on March 10 and will be displayed there throughout April. Meanwhile, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is set to hit theaters on April 5, 2023.Elsewhere in footwear, Canyaon takes the Nike M2K Tekno to the salon.

Nike Unveils Updated Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski OG+

After countless interations of Dunk Lows and Blazer Lows, Nike SB now returns with an upgraded design for Stefan Janoski’s classic Zoom Janoski silhouette dubbed the Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski OG+. Rounding out the look are white sole units with wavy textured bottoms.Take a closer look at the Nike SB Zoom Janoski OG+ “Alabaster” above and look for the pairs to release in the coming weeks via Nike’s website and select retailers for $95 USD.Elsewhere in footwear, here are official images of the Billie Eilish x Nike Air Force 1 Low “White.”
