Graphic Designer SAMBORGHINI Reworks Nyjah Huston’s Nike SB Nyjah Free 2

Nyjah Huston has tapped graphic designer SAMBORGHINI to rework his signature shoe with Nike’s skate-geared Nike SB sub-label: the SB Nyjah Free 2. Based in Seattle, SAMBORGHINI has created graphics for a wide-ranging lineup of music artists including Migos, Pop Smoke, Katy Perry and Selena Gomez. Here, he uses his signature bold fonts and striking graphics in tandem with a “Light Photo Blue” makeup that draws from an original colorway of Nike Sportswear’s OG Zoom Spiridon to craft one of Huston’s most memorable signature sneakers yet.Uppers mix a bright blue mesh base with sturdy black rubber overlays, designed to hold up through Huston’s demanding skate sessions. Silver midfoot Swooshes and silver piping that runs around the eyestays and collar add to the sleek style, white tongue tabs are stamped with Huston’s name and there’s even a hidden dash of hi-vis reflective flair on the eyestay anchors. SAMBORGHINI’s artwork appears in three places: on the lateral heel (a red Nike SB text hit that contrasts with the forefoot’s red Swoosh), on the medial heel (where his name is spelled out in red) and on the insoles. It’s the last of these pieces which is the most notable, as when taken out of the shoes and put together the insoles show a snarling panther with red eyes, surrounded by lightning bolts and holding a silver Swoosh in its teeth. Down below, a flexible-yet-durable white Nike Free-inspired outsole rounds off the look. The SAMBORGHINI-crafted Nike SB Nyjah Free 2 is available at international Nike webstores now, and will land at US SB retailers like The Berrics Canteen soon. It’s priced at $95 USD.Need more Swoosh news? Take a look at the Nuyorican-inspired Air Max 97 “Puerto Rico.”

New Balance Adds Stately Navy and Gray Styles to the 2002R Lineup

Once a largely forgotten piece of New Balance’s early ’00s running lineup that’s now living a second life as a casual favorite, the brand’s 2002R has been brought to market in several clean colorways over the spring and summer months — the latest duo of which are classic navy and gray makeups. Each pair sports one of NB’s most famous hues, and both feature a sporty build with just enough technical flair to provide a casual look that’s at home in the streets and the gym alike.Uppers feature a mesh forefoot, collar and tongue, overlaid by supple suede mudguards, quarter panels and heels. Branding is handled by tonal N logos on each quarter — rimmed with white and secured to the upper by thick embroidery — plus small 2002R graphics directly under the lateral half of the collar. There’s also a handful of hi-vis reflective hits to be had, namely a New Balance Running graphic on the suede tongue and a touch of detail on the heel. Down below, both shoes round their look off with sail-colored midsoles that use soft silver N-ERGY gel in the heel for cushioning. Interested parties can expect both of these New Balance 2002Rs to release at retailers like BILLY’s Tokyo on June 5, priced at a tax-inclusive ¥16,280 JPY (approximately $149 USD).Looking for more 2002R news?
